"Transformation in Wisdom" - At Prayer with St. John of the Cross - Six Day Silent Directed Retreat
St. John of the Cross was a 16th century Spanish Carmelite who is considered one of the greatest mystics and spiritual teachers of the Church. Father Steve Coffey will lead us in this retreat and share with us the wisdom and spiritual passion of this great saint and how his experience of God can lead us deeper into our own inner longing. One Mile Pro-Life Walk and Family Picnic in LA (with Bishop Ochoa and Archbishop Gomez)
Bishop Armando Ochoa cordially invites you, your family, and your ministry group to join him and the metropolitan Archbishop of Los Angeles, Jose Gomez, for the first-ever large-scale event in downtown LA uniting communities and inspiring positive actions by promoting the beauty and dignity of death. The less-than-a-mile walk will begin at La Placita on Olvera Street in Downtown LA and walk up Temple Street past the LA Cathedral, across Grand Avenue, down 1st Street, and across Broadway culminating in a family-friendly picnic at Grand Park with music, entertainment, speakers, food trucks, and exhibits from local organizations serving those in need. Christ the King Knights of Columbus Council 12719 presents nationally acclaimed radio and TV Catholic Lay Evangelist Jess Romero. Jesse will be presenting two programs, one in the afternoon for teens and one in the evening for adults. The event will take place in McGovern hall here at Christ the King. World Marriage Day
World Marriage Day with Bishop Armando Ochoa will be celebrated with Anniversary Couples on Sunday, February 8, 2015, 3pm at Saint Anthony of Padua Parish in Fresno. Mar- ried Couples celebrating anniversaries of 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 + years are invited to register directly through the diocesan website, www.dioceseoffresno.org: Ministry/Family Life/ Submenu, or by e-mail or phone with Edith: firstname.lastname@example.org; 559.488.7474 ext. 103. There is a $10.00 fee to help defray the cost of the event. Anniversary couples will be seated together on a first come, first served basis and according to special needs. They will check in at the front entrance of the Church to verify their registration fees & seating assignments. There is limited handicap parking at the front of the Church; but for those who need assistance, there is access to drop off someone in the front of the Church. Seating will begin at 2:15pm, once the Spanish Mass has con- cluded. Everyone is to remain in the pews during Mass. How- ever, Bishop Ochoa will invite anniversary couples celebrating 60 or more years to have their pictures taken with him in the Church after Mass. All other anniversary couples will have the opportunity to be photographed with Bishop Ochoa at the Reception. Please bring your own camera of cell phone. Regis- tration is now open and registration will close on January 26.
